Designed by Satoshi Wada in 2001, this model is visually an evolution of the C5, but was lengthened to 4,927 mm (194.0 in), and has the new Audi "single-frame grille". Like other contemporary Audis, the A6 has a "tornado line" that runs from the front lights to the rear lights just below the body shoulders.
Power comes from a 3.2-liter V6, rated at 255 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to all four wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission and Audi's Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system.
