Launched in 2003, it was the first Rolls-Royce developed and introduced after BMW purchased the right to use the Rolls-Royce name and logo in 1998. It was the seventh Rolls-Royce design to use the Phantom nameplate.
It is credited with successfully reviving the Rolls-Royce brand and restoring Rolls-Royce's reputation as a maker of luxury cars.
Produced in the newly-built Goodwood factory, the Phantom and its variants were the only models Rolls-Royce produced until the introduction of the Ghost. It was one of the most expensive sedans on earth at the time, and it remains an instantly recognizable luxury icon today.

The Phantom features an aluminum space-frame chassis and body panels, and this example is finished in Silver. Exterior details include a chrome grille with a Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament as well as front and rear parking cameras and sensors, a powered sunroof, tinted windows, and rear-hinged rear doors with umbrella storage.
Inside the cabin you’ll find heated and power-adjustable front seats as well as the rear bench are upholstered in beige leather and accompanied by a matching lower dashboard, center console, and door panels and Lambs-wool floor carpeting. Wood trim accents the cabin, and additional appointments include multi-zone automatic climate control, a CD stereo, a Lexicon audio system, and an analog clock housed in a panel that flips to reveal the navigation screen and cameras.
The wood-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a power-reserve meter, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates 79k miles
The 6.75-liter, 48-valve aluminum V12 was factory rated at 453 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a ZF six-speed automatic transmission.
